Black Sails, Wild Target, and Repo Man
Feb. 17th, 2014 02:00 pmSo Black Sails is awesome and I love it and I marathoned it with my boyfriend and I can't wait for more and omg the theme music omg. Granted there are some issues, and I hope that Max takes her revenge soon because her plotline is incredibly uncomfortable, even though they're not framing it as exploitative, y'know, the camera isn't lingering on her abuse, it's just being heavily implied, but still. The plot is going in interesting turns and I have no idea what's really happening, but I can't wait to find out. And I'm squealing at all the costuming and historical stuff.
Hot adorable interracial femslash onscreen right off, and framed as a legit relationship and NOT as a performance for some leering man onscreen. Then it gets torpedoed and I'm so sad. Surprisingly no male/male action yet, but hopefully that'll appear once they're out to sea. It's a show about pirates, I expect some men banging each other.I hope it's Flint/Silver.
Hung out with teenybuffalo this weekend, had a fantastic night. Double feature movies and gelato and homemade cookies. We watched Wild Target (one of my fav movies, which went down as a great success) and Repo Man, a movie I'd never seen before and teeny raved about, with good reason. It's ... a very strange film, I don't know how to explain it, but good. I loved it. Then I caught the second-to-last train back home, which was cool, never ridden the train alone that late before.
And now I wanna film like three movies at her house because her house is lovely and locations for college students are hard to come by.

This was a perfect movie. I'm serious, I've said that about maybe one or two movies in my entire life. That's not to say it's the OMG BESTEST MOVIE EVER or what have you, but it is a perfect movie.

Pirates and the Moon
Jun. 17th, 2007 09:40 amYesterday night, I went to a ballet about Pirates. There was a gypsy (a derogatory term, technically she should have been called a 'Roma,' but I'll let it slide for now) and lots of PotC music. One of my friends from a Shakespeare play I'd been in was one of the pirates. Another told me about the ballet and we went together. It was great to see her again, after all this time.
I think I'll get back into ballet, that show last night reminded me of what I used to love about is as a little kid.
On the way home, the moon was up. I've never seen it so thin, not even a Chesire Cat moon, more like the thinnest finger-nail clipping.
I'm working on more Mylar fics, just now I'm working on one where Peter is evil and ... well ... read it when I post it!
