Late to the party I know, but I picked up the Season 3 DVD set at Target for super cheap and now I’m listening to the commentaries.

I’m only two commentaries in and they’re SO GREAT.

First one had Bryan Fuller and Gillian Anderson discussing slash fiction. Gillian said she needed to do more research, and said “I work with these guys, I need to know what they look like taking it up the ass!” And also like, interesting analysis of the characters and their implications.

Second one had Hugh Dancy talking about getting so used to being drenched in blood all the time, and Bryan saying “Working on this show must have been like working in a fetish club in Berlin for three years. ‘We’re going to dunk you in ze fluids and maybe you get an Emmy nomination, ok?’”

“Hey Will, there’s your boyfriend!” oh my gods.

They mention many influences, including Tarsem Singh’s The Fall, which made me squee because good lord, that movie.

Note to self though, not a good idea to listen to these commentaries right before bed. I learned every year that watching episodes right before bed,

Ok, so, freaking out over the latest episode and the promo and the knowledge that Bryan Fuller has hinted at some kind of nasty cliffhanger at the end of the season.

Know what I want? What I think would be super cool?

Will puts the pieces together and realizes that Hannibal's the Chesapeake Ripper. He goes to confront him, they fight, there's shots fired, Hannibal stabs him, the cops show up and Hannibal flees. Will blacks out. THE END OF SEASON 1.

In season 2, a manhunt commences. Possibly this season plays out in real-time, or roughly real-time, detailing the manhunt and Will's medical care and him staggering out of the hospital to hunt Hannibal down despite his brain being half on fire and still recovering from being stabbed to hell and back again (and Freddie sneaking in to take pics of his wounds like in the book.) And either they catch Hannibal quickly, like, in a week or two and the rest of the season is the EPIC. NASTY. BADASS. TRIAL OF THE CENTURY. Or it takes all season to capture him and Hannibal like, taunts them and leaves bodies to freak them out and tries to pull his "I know your mind, we're so alike" crap with Will and Will's still coming down off the hallucinations and in pain from the wounds and stuff. Then they arrest Hannibal and that's the end of season 2.

I think this would be awesome. Probably they've got something much better cooked up, the writers are fantastic and Bryan Fuller has plans, so who knows. But I like this idea very much. If it doesn't turn out this way I might have to write epic fanfic about it. After I finish the other 12,000 fanfics I've committed to.

So I'm reading the Hannibal books this summer, because why not. Not crazy about Thomas Harris's style but it sucks me in none the less. Great characters. He paints a really nasty picture of the world with very sparse words. So ... that's good.

I'm getting more and more apprehensive about this impending Clarice/Hannibal stuff I've heard so much about that happens in Hannibal. I'm only on The Silence of the Lambs right now but it's making me ever so anxious.

So, not only did Bryan Fuller retweet one of my tweets ... Cleolinda Jones favorited said tweet.

*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*

Seriously. I squeed so much when I saw Bryan Fuller retweeted me. Which is silly, but hey, I love his mind, I love him, I love his shows and maybe someday if the stars are right and I work really hard and I'm very lucky, I can work on one of his shows someday. Even as a PA I would be so happy just to be there. I love his stuff so much.

And I've been a fan of Cleo's for years. Since I was like, 15 I think. So it was cool when I saw she'd favorited my tweet and I might have squeaked and blushed a bit. I was still riding high off the Bryan Fuller retweeting and it was like a cherry on a sundae of "Senpai Noticed Me."
It's funny because in the Six Degrees of Internet Fandom/Culture/Whatever, we're very closely linked via the Made of Fail podcast. (I'm pretty sure she has no idea who I am. Is she into Channel Awesome?)

I should probably stop babbling now, I'm going to embarrass myself. I haven't been sleeping enough lately.
