Ergh ...
*retch*
Bleh ...
Ok, I've got that out of my system.
I honestly thought it was going to be good, really I did. I mean, calling a show 'Moonlight' and having it about vampires threw me off, but I could deal with that.
Vampire. He's a detective. He's in LA. No, not Angel. Doesn't deserve to be compared to Angel because it differs from that lovely show in MANY ways: it's not funny, it hasn't got good acting, it's dull, and it made me loose faith in the human race for a few minutes.
Ok ok, there were a few things I kinda liked. The vampire friend, with the women just basking about, offering themselves. And towards the end where St. John what's-his-name (Mick?!) went kinda badass and slammed the professor into a wall and killed that creepy TA.
But still, those girls weren't Goth. Goth is a MINDSET more than anything else, and just because you wear black and have bat necklaces doesn't mean you're Goth. And all the stuff about sex and blood and vampires and perverts and such ... COME ON! Do they just want to get all the cliche's and misconceptions out of the way for the rest of the series (which I have the sneaking suspicion will be short-lived and ridiculed by TWoP)?
The flashback of Mick killing his sire (which they don't call her, btw) is just EMBARRASSING. I mean, when they're scratching each other cat-style and start making out and she starts to drink his blood, I got a bit excited, but then it just dives back into the cheesiness.
I had high hopes. I thought this might be good, not a half-baked, badly-acted, terrible excuse for a vampire show.
*sigh* Oh well, what with Heroes, Doctor Who, and Torchwood, with the looming prospect of Bionic Woman - which I still haven't made up my mind about watching, btw - I guess yet another show would have been too much.
But still, this is pretty sad.
(Btw, don't even get me STARTED on the fact that the channel barely came in. I watched most of the episode in black and white, with occasional green tinges.)
