Comfort Food In the Fallout From Proposition 8 Challenge

We're all hurting, girls. Our friends and family (and girlfriends?) are hurting. My father and his boyfriend are hurting. I think my CAT is hurting too.

So, naturally, I work through my anger like I do my angst, depression, and disappointment: through fanfic. I propose you all do the same.
Let's write like nobody's business, churn out as many fics as humanly possible, and, in the process, PROTEST LIKE CRAZY.

So ... consider this a free-for-all post. If you want to request something, post it in a comment. If you have a prompt, post it. If you have a new fic, post the linky regardless of pairing, fandom, rating, or however new or old you are to the slash scene.
The only rule is that your fic must include slash of some kind. Fem is welcome and craved!

I think equating "American" with "insulting and frankly ridiculous" is unfair. There are many, many Americans who did not vote for George Bush, who want gay marriage (yes, "marriage") legalized, and many, many who are frustrated with the 51% majority that make us appear "ridiculous" to the outside world. Please try to remember that 49% of this country has not been represented in the past eight years.

That´s a great idea. I´m in pure denial about prop 8, and I´m not even from the USA. My friends and I were so happy when Obama won... I still can´t believe something so terrible and medieval happened right after that.

I´ll try to think about more prompts later, and maybe write something when I get a break from college, but right now... All I want is a fic in which Sylar frightens and threatens whoever he needs... And, in the end, gets married to Mohinder at one of those three states.

That's horrible news. I can't believe we still live in a world like this.
As far as cross-posting goes, there's also heroes_slash and I'd recommend merlinslash and merlinxarthur as well. Merlin is a British show but someone posted a sponsered ficathon there focused on proposition 8, and I think that slash fics set in the Dark Ages would be immensly appropriate. Also, a search reveals comms by the names of boy_touching, yfg (Yaoi For Guys), yaoi and slash.

And as for prop 8... it sucks. Here in Italy it's the same - every time someone starts talking about gay marriage or civil partnership or whatever, so many people including the Pope (respect and tolerance, uh?) strongly oppose it and nthing ever happens. :(

I am neither American nor gay, so I suppose Proposition 8 should be none of my concern, but I'm a decent person, and when I learnt California voted to ban gay-marriage - and that two other States previously voted against it too - I couldn't believe it, and I can't tell you how sad, angry and disgusted I felt about it.
The country I live in (Italy) doesn't recognize neither civil unions nor same-sex marriage, and this is bad enough, but it must really horrible to see not only the legal validity of your marriage being crushed, but also its spiritual value being put in doubt by a bunch of bigots that never got out of Dark Age, as if your feelings were just a joke, a parody, your own existance a sort of cosmic mistake. Gay Americans have my sympathies.
I am sorry for my poor English, I hope I made myself understood anyway.

As far as prompts are concerned, what about this quotation from T.S. Eliot's 'The Waste Land' ('What the Thunder Said')? It always makes me think about House/Wilson... but any couple of friends who find love with each other could fit with it.

OMG, okay I had a couple fic ideas from quod eris sum bt they all fell outta my head til just now. So I'm belated requesting a femmeslash of Claire and Elle. Basically I want Claire finding out (Just before Elle comes over) that Sylar is Peter's brother. So, Noah's her dad, Nathan's her dad. Peter's her uncle, Sylar's her uncle. She's running out of hot guys in her life who aren't related to her. So when she's holding Elle's hand on the plane (Or just set it whenever, reli) she kinda thinks, I'm not related to HER. Cue some mile-high PWP, or some fluffy beginning of a long-term relationship. :)
