Yes, I am mad that China is hosting them (Tibet, the Dali Lama, faux-comunism, etc.) but you've got to admit, the openening ceremonies kicked sixteen kinds of ass.

I cried like a baby. Of course, I'm probably pre-menstral, but it was still one of the most GORRAM BEAUTIFUL things I've ever seen. I said "oh my GOD" no less than twenty times. I fell down into a chair at one point.

Admit it, you, too, were totally blown away.

I mean, the DRUMS here come the drums! Tee hee and the LIGHTS and the FIREWORKS and the CHRISTMAS LIGHTS and the CHILDREN (that's where I completely lost it. Even the fact that George W. Bush was sitting beside Putin, into whose SOUL he has reportedly seen by looking into his eyes heh heh didn't stop me.)
Hee hee, the drummers were told to smile. It was kind of cute, especially since they were wearing silvery gowns that looked like Star Trek outfits.

The scroll. Being painted by people's BODIES. I have no words. My mouth was hanging open the whole time.

I did not think it was possible to be scared of and feel nauseous from watching a printing press ... but I was proven wrong. Even the men in the (let's face it, to foreigners, they LOOKED silly) silly hats and costumes couldn't deter me. Btw, IT WAS ALL OPERATED BY PEOPLE! (Who smiled. The men in the funny hats did not smile.)

Oh my god the BOATS. The poles and the BOATS and the sea and the ...

I want those dresses. Also, the saying that 'all Chinese look the same' makes no frakin' sense to me. All of those women looked different from each other, despite wearing the SAME DRESSES and having the SAME HAIR JOBS and the SAME MAKE-UP DESIGNS.

Yeah, the Heroes-promos made me jump up and squee. My Lost-buddies were slightly concerned.
Speaking of them, one of my Lost-Buddies is convinced that our President, Mr. Bush, really REALLY needed to use the facilities during the march of the countries. Since his knee was jiggling in more than one screenshot, I am inclined to believe her.

I liked the guys in the bright green jumpsuits, but my favorite part of the whole production (and I mean, EVERYTHING) would have to be the little girl flying the kite in the air.

My close second favorite moment would have to be the Tai Chi segment. I love Tai Chi. I took a few classes a few winters ago, and I still do it from time to time. Of course, mine doesn't look halfway as cool and peaceful as the preformers' but you get my feeling.

I LOVED the dancers who were bouncing around the globe. VERY pretty.

March of the Nations/My comments on outfits:
During the introductions of certain nations, I would randomly yell out something I assosiated with that country and punch the air. "Go dragons!" in the case of Albania, "Go Vikings!" int he case of Norway, Sweeden, and Denmark, and "Go vampires ... and ... other ... stuff ..." in the case of Romania. Yes, I am weird, but it got pretty late, and I have to get up and help transport wedding cake tomorrow morning, gimme a break.

I liked the Mauritius' outfits. Yay for polka-dots!

Uganda's white robes with navy-blue suit-jackets ... two-sided flags ...

I like how the Palestinians were holing hands.

(That Oreo comercial was SO CUTE!)

I liked Indonesia's skirt-things.

Lithuania's shirts made me feel ill.

I LOVE how that scroll/painting thing kept progressing through the ceremony. Very imaginative.

That famous Spanish guy ... Rafael something ... he's rather hot ...

Oooooooh, Iran ... *groans and clutches stomach* that is NOT how to gain the world's approval ... *slinks away from their green jackets*

Hungary's womens' outfits are very ... Christmasy ...

Namibia's costumes were nice.

Tuvalu is fun to say ... and their outfits were cute.

(I hadn't known that China has only one time-zone. That's pretty cool.)

Lesoto's outfits were cool. I'd model it on the Today show, if the newscasters won't ...

Ireland's outfits weren't the best. Beige? *shakes head*

El Salvador's flag-bearer looked so happy! *beams*

Samoa's outfits are something I would wear.

Everyone from Portugal were carrying banners. I liked the banners, because they had the country's name in Chinese and English.

Estonia's jackets ... *hurk*

I like how athletes were going over to shake each others' hands and take pictures. It warms my heart.

Hee hee, the Austrians were doing a little dance. I like that.

Heh heh, Australia to Zambia ...

Aaaaah, finally, China ... I need to go to bed soon ... and take a shower ... perhaps not in that order ...

Hee hee, Yao Ming with the flag and that little boy (whose story made me tear up again, I'm definately PMS-ing) walking side by side was so cute ...

The Torch Lighting:

It would be fun to run with the Torch for a bit someday ...

Ooooooo ... did any of YOU expect him to go up into the air? I mean, I knew he probably would when I saw the harness ... but him 'running' around the stadium and lighting the elaborate torch high above everyones' heads ... that was SO WONDERFUL. And the 'scroll' unrolling around the top with him and ... it was perfect. LOVED it. So glad I stayed up.

In short, I pity whichever country hosts the summer Olympics next time around. There is no way in HELL anyone call follow this up. Good show, China, good show. *applauds*
Now, about those human-rights issues ...

I am a bit mad that they are hosting as well, but hey maybe this can be a platform for China to quit being such asses and everything. =P

I cried like a baby. Of course, I'm probably pre-menstral, but it was still one of the most GORRAM BEAUTIFUL things I've ever seen. I said "oh my GOD" no less than twenty times. I fell down into a chair at one point.))
YES EXACTLY! THAT WAS MY REACTION EXACTLY! I cried so hard, and it takes ALOT to make me cry; it was so wonderfully beautiful I don't know how anyone could NOT weep at the sight of its magnificence. I kept going omg too, I seriously did! I couldn't look away for even a moment while it was on.

I mean, the DRUMS here come the drums! Tee hee and the LIGHTS and the FIREWORKS and the CHRISTMAS LIGHTS and the CHILDREN (that's where I completely lost it. Even the fact that George W. lol Yeah drums! =P I seriously lost it too, I just watched, mouth agape and then I start weeping like a baby.

Hee hee, the drummers were told to smile. It was kind of cute, especially since they were wearing silvery gowns that looked like Star Trek outfits.))

I did NOT expect it, when it started up I started crying again. Just the magnificence of it all, the beauty, I...DUDE.

One would hope.

YAY! I wasn't the only one who cried! *huggles you*

THE EVERYTHING!
Hells yeah!

lol I thought he was just getting bored, srsly. =P
Nah, with his soulmate Putin in the same row as him, I don't think so.

Oh that was AWESOME! And how they all moved flawlessly together, when they didn't even have any cues or something to tell them where to move, lovely!
Yeah, that WAS incredible. I loved it when they all formed flawless circles WITHOUT FLOOR MARKINGS, then ran around really fast and formed some MORE!

*dashes to e-mail*

they KNEW people would be all grrr about them hosting it so they were like, "ahhh fanfare will distract those amercians!" because really, we are the only ones even worried abotu i think.
also: how the frigg to you have time to write all this DOWN? i watch the olympics and i WATCH them.
you manage to watch, write, drool, ooh and ahh, and still retain some sort of sanity. if i did all that i'd be a goner.
anyway. i miss you.
17 days till school!!!!!!!!
huzzah for jenny! huzzah for there not being a certain boy whose name rhymes with phuck! huzzah for....for.....new teachers! and such! also, huzzah for heroes announcements every a.m.!
i'm so jazzeled. i went to see TDK again....and i realized that though Heath did a great job, a lot of people only say he did b/c he died. which isn't very honoring to the late actor anyway! he wouldn't have wanted people to like him for being dead.
my mom was like, twitchign in her seat uncomfortably every time the joker licked his lips. i was laughing soooo hard. and then every time the gotham city residents were stupid (i.e. every five seconds) we would crack up. some woman behind us was like "could you ladies PLEASE calm down!?!?" and that made me laugh even harder.
i think this is a long comment.
tonight my friend david is coming over and i uberly like him. and it's terrible b/c he's eithr gay or a eunuch.
i'm hoping for gay. that's reversible with a little eyebatting and coercion.
XD
what have you been up to, besides being better at everything than me? any interesting news? how's the rest of the performances go? any news vis a vis that girl who was apparently waaaay more gorgeous than i'll ever be???
-whatever my name is

*sigh*

My dear, you have to stop changing your username. I can't keep up!

Yeah, that's probably why they went all-out with the opening ceremonies. It distracted ME for a while, then when I heard the little girl who was singing (during the bit with the children) wasn't actually singing. She was lipsynching. The girl who whose voice that was was deemed 'not pretty enough' by the Chinese officials. I want to kick them. (The officials, not the girls.)

Yes, I manage to retain some of my sanity. By leaping up every five seconds, crossing over to the computer, and typing up my thoughts.

Yes, huzzah for what's-his-name not returning! *dances wildly* And huzzah for Heroes! (I read a major spoiler, though, so I've sworn off spoilers.)

Did you read my Doctor/Jack fic extravaganza? I'm quite proud of it, though it was exhausting. *slump*

ARGH I'm so jealous about you getting to see TDK AGAIN! I want to see it again (how long is it in theaters for? *bites nails*)
Hee hee, yeah, I can see how the Joker licking his lips would make your mom uncomfortable. (There's three reasons he did that: habit from when the scars were new, he's batshit insane, he's hitting on Batman. I personally think it's all three, but that's because I've become a Batman/Joker slasher of late.)

Oh, don't pester the poor gay boy! *sighs*

The rest of the preformances went very well (you didn't come, you silly girl!) the wedding day was sunny and lovely and the cake was fantastic (of course it was, my mother made it) and I cried a little bit. Yesterday I went to my dance partner's play (Taming of the Shrew as well, weird, eh?) and he was great and his little brother was hysterical and some of the new people were good but I think ours was WAY better.
I am NOT better at everything than you! You know for a fact that I can't girlify myself and can't match clothing and don't know ANYTHING about current music and am totally oblivious to people checking me out and ...

Oh, yeah, That-Girl. (Hee hee, you-know-who is 'That-Guy' and she is 'That-Girl') she's probably back in NY now, and I didn't kiss her or say I liked her or anything. I'm kinda sad, but she DID say she liked my hair! I complimented her a bunch, so maybe she knew, maybe not, I dunno.
She's not more gorgeous than you, dear, she's just attractive in a different way. Like, logically I should be in love with my dance partner (he drove me to the theater last week, he's a better driver than EITHER of my parents!) because he's the 'perfect guy' and yet I'm in love with That-Guy from school with the dry wit and David Tennant hair. I OUGHT to fall in love with you (or That-Girl's best friend, who spoke to me way more than That-Girl and was a great actress and gives nice backrubs) but instead I fall for the skinny (kinda scarily so, I don't think she eats as much as she should, which is a minus) stranger who I barely know and barely talks to me and probalby has nothing in comment with me and ...

Bah, enough about her, she won't be back here until next summer, you can stop buying Voodoo dolls or whatever. We need to get together for a Doctor Who marathon! My birthday is Monday, I'll call you soon!
