Ok, when I put that blue tortilla chip in my mouth, I didn't know it was coated in cayenne powder. I gagged, spat down my shirt, and tossed the chip out the window. Then I spent the next ten minutes coughing, itching my tongue, and spitting discreetly into the fold of cloth around one of the many pockets on my (men's) shorts. Good LORD that was DISGUSTING. Guess I just can't take spicy ... *sigh* how am I going to travel the world if I can't handle cayanne chips?
Soon after that my trip stopped for ice cream, which was WONDERFUL, because black-raspberry (very rare outside of Maine, let me tell ya ...) ice cream was just what I needed to stop the hacking and spitting.
Also, little Nubian goats are the CUTEST thing EVER!
In other news, I must finish a story for my Jane Austen class, which is due TOMORROW and I've never been this unprepared in my LIFE! *freaks* I'm going to finish that Doctor/Master snipit I thought up this morning, and then work on my Regency story ...

Date: 2008-06-12 11:11 pm (UTC)We read some Jane Austen, watched some Jane Austen, and are now trying to write like her/about her time period.
It's a FANTASTIC Doctor/Master fic ... just really damn long. Mayhaps a series? *shrugs* Summer IS here, after all ...
Black Raspberry ice cream is a very Maine thing, and very hard to get outside of Maine. That's why I was so excited to get it today.

Woohoo for convincing you! I love to convert peoples!

Date: 2008-06-14 06:57 pm (UTC)Ok, here's the general gist of Doctor Who: there's this guy who looks human is actually an alien (Time Lord) from the planet Gallifrey, travels in time-and-space in a 'ship' called the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) that looks like a blue police box, has a companion (not a sexual thing, though people fight about that) or two or three who go about with him, saving things and people and planets, and they run up and down corridors a lot.
Stuff you should know if you're only gonna watch the Doctor/Master bits: there was this event called the Time War, which the Doctor ending by blowing up his home planet and killing all the other Time Lords and also their enemies the Daleks (creepy things that go 'Ex-ter-min-ate! Ex-ter-min-ate!') and yet he survived. He didn't mean to, it just happened. This means he's been carrying about a lot of angst and depression, until a lovely girl called Rose got him back on track. Then she got stuck on a parallel world at the end of S2. It makes me cry every time. Sadly Rose is coming back at the end of S4, which utterly ruins her fantastic sendoff in S2. In S3 the Doctor travled with Martha, an ok kind of girl, and she showed him that there was life after Rose and he helped her become a badass. Capt. Jack is a gift to slashers, who cannot die because of something Rose did by accident when she saved the Doctor's life.
The Doctor THOUGHT the Master was dead, until the end of the first of the last three episodes of S3. It was a big reveal for all the old-skool fans, because the Master is like ... well, people have likened his relationship to the Doctor as Prof. Moriarty's relationship to Sherlock Holmes, but it's even slashier than THAT. The Master is also a Time Lord, and kinda evil. He and the Doctor are forever gravitating towards each other and the Master's always got this scheme that the Doctor always foils. This behavior has been likened to a little boy pulling a girl's pigtails at school, or a boy yelling 'LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!' whilst waving his arms frantically to gain the attention of someone he likes.

Not Doctor/Master, but a great Master scene:

Have fun! Ignore Gnome!Doctor and Tinkerbelle!Doctor in the S3 finale! (And we all know that the Doctor did not stay aged all year, the Master totally made him young again and did all kinds of nasty, slashy things to him. They just don't show it onscreen.)

Date: 2008-06-17 09:57 pm (UTC)On Heroes Claude actually SAYS 'Fantastic' ... that's what got people squeeing so much about him being the Doctor. Personally I think he went to NYC, then after some madness shaved and went to London to pick up Rose, but that's just me and my weird crossover plots ... I even wrote a fic about that ... *rummages around* where is it? ...
Aha! Here it is!

Date: 2008-06-19 01:19 am (UTC)I'm doing an art-meme on deviantart for Doctor Who, and it asks you to put the Doctor in one of your favorite TV shows, and after some trial-and-error I arrive at Lost. My idea is (in about as many words) the TARDIS crashlanding on the Island, Des being a hidden-Time-Lord, Sawyer and Donna being distant (nickname-bestowing) cousins, and Locke and Ben being future human Doctor and Master respectfully.
Yes, I am very strange.
You should write your idea of a crossover!

Date: 2008-06-19 12:37 pm (UTC)And I might do a crossover...eventually. Right now I am super swamped with three L/Light fics and doing some Kiro fics for the Kensei/Hiro exchange. O_O

Date: 2008-06-19 02:50 pm (UTC)Hee hee, I'm not actually going to write it, but I think I put it a funny way in the art meme, so ...
Ah yes, eventually is good! So long as you do!

Date: 2008-06-19 03:50 pm (UTC)I will eventually, like I said. Right now I just have to finish up the bazillion fics I have going right now. O_O

Oh, it 'tis ...
