Title: Who Am I?

Rating: R for torture … later it will be R for violence and smut.

Pairings: Gabriel the Anti-Hero and Mohinder. Possible GtAH/Claire.

Warnings: If you haven’t watched all of Season 1 of Heroes, you shouldn’t be here, you should be watching the DVDs!

Disclaimer: Uh … obviously I don’t own Heroes. Wish I did. Then slash would run rampant, Hana wouldn’t be an infomorph, and Mohinder and Sylar would adopt Molly!

Summary: Gabriel works at this Company with Claire and some other Heroes characters …

My Thoughts: This is dedicated to ladywilde80 because her series ‘The Road to Redemption’ kinda inspired this in a backwards way. I’m now addicted to Gabriel the Anti-Hero. This fic is pretty short, but more will come … eventually. I’m working on posting a bunch of stuff before next Tuesday, because after that my fics will take a rather long time to finish and post …

“Who are you?”

What a question. Gabriel stares at the man – who is fearful and prepared to face any torture that can cross his mind.

“Someone who can help you,” Gabriel takes a few steps to the side.

The man snorts. “Oh, so you’re the good cop. Where’s the bad one?”

Gabriel smirks. “Oh, the bad cop is here, you traitorous scum. We’re just both in the same body.”

A flicker of surprise over the man’s face. “Split personality?” he asks in a would-be-casual way.

Gabriel shakes his head. “No, we’re perfectly merged now. For a while we were two, now it’s just me. Sylar and Gabriel … just right.” he lunges forward, hurling the man to the ground. “Let’s start off slow. I’m Gabriel, who are you?” he drags the man up by his curly black hair.

“My name is Mohinder Suresh,” the man gasps, staring up at Gabriel with defiant eyes. “I killed your father.”

~*~

Gabriel washes Mohinder’s blood off his hands in the sink in the break room, humming slightly.

“Hey, you ok?” Claire Bennet – infamous for her infiltration through morgues – enters and places a hand on his shoulder. “I heard … well, it was hard not to hear …” she glances at the floor.

“That was just the beginning, Claire,” Gabriel switches off the water and dries his hands on a towel. “It’s only going to get worse,”

She bites her lip. “Don’t damage him too severely, we need his information –”

Gabriel whirls around, grabs her shoulders, and slams her down onto the table. “How can you say that?! He killed my father!”

“I know that! That’s why they assigned him to you!” Claire shoves Gabriel back, straightening her jacket. “By all means, rip him to shreds! Just get the information they need. I’m sure they’ll let you have him then,” there’s a trace of a grim smile on her lips.

Gabriel raises his eyebrows. “Really? Since when are you pro-murder?”

Claire scowls. “He’s part of an organization that tried to kill me and succeeded in slaughtering hundreds of thousands. It wouldn’t be murder if you strangled him: it would be justice.”

~*~

After bones and blood start to become monotonous, Gabriel switches to different tactics. Waterboarding, sleep-depravation, minor electrocution … he’ll try everything, even if Mohinder is telling the truth – Hiro, or even Peter, couldn’t have done it, but Gabriel can.

He’s drowned in blood before, it’s too easy to slide back into the old role, like a favorite sweater.

~*~

Two weeks, and Mohinder breaks.

Facts and figures, building layouts, security schedules, locations of prisoners, who’s dead and who isn’t, where it’s best to break in …

A day or two of more torment, and Gabriel is satisfied that Mohinder is finally telling the truth.

His superiors congratulate him, coworkers clap him on the back, and Claire’s hug makes Gabriel see her in a different light. What a fool he’s been – she’s given him looks and dropped hints he never picked up on until now …

So much good directed to him: all because he forced confessions out of his father’s murderer.

~*~

“We broke into the compound last night,” Gabriel tells Mohinder.

Mohinder slowly closes his eyes.

“How many of my … coworkers died?” he asks wearily.

Gabriel spews out a list of names. A few make Mohinder wince. It’s this kind of pain Gabriel enjoys the most: mental torture knows no limits but eventual insanity.

“So,” Mohinder opens his eyes, blinking back tears. “What happens to me now?”

Gabriel’s face darkens. “Don’t get your hopes up, they won’t let me kill you.”

Mohinder raises his eyebrows – a cut reopens.

Gabriel glares at him. “They want you … on our side,” he manages through gritted teeth. “You don’t have any powers, but you’re dangerous enough on your own, so they’ve …” he paused for a moment, desperately containing his anger. “They’re partnered you with me.”

A pause.

Mohinder bursts out laughing.

Oh my, I didn't even see that one before! Is that... someone's head on the table? *squints some more* LOL, if it's Mylar, it's ok in my book.
Yeah, it's from one of the Mylar stories and someone drew disturbing art ... it's Peter's head, which Mohinder brought Sylar, and he's saying 'He screamed so pretty.' ... it makes me all happy inside in a distrubing way ...

My favorite part was when it got to Mohinder and it was like, "I didn't really understand what he said.... destiny... invisible...."
I know! My favorite part is 'At first I thought I was interupting something' and the thing with needing to take a shower after seeing Nathan ...
