Title: Winter Vacation

Summary: Chester wakes up in a strange situation.
Warnings: Gen-fic!
A/N: There really should be more fic of 90’s Kid and Chester A. Bum hanging out. I was inspired to write this after reading emmy’s awesome Christmas fic, and gave myself the prompt ‘Boxes.’
“Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!”
Chester blearily opened his eyes, wondering – not for the first time – where he was and how he’d gotten there.
“Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, are you, like, awake?”
Chester sat up, rubbing his eyes with his grimy hands. Now he remembered. He’d jumped on a train heading south to escape the bitter chill of a Chicago winter and 90’s Kid had tagged along because jumping on a train was ‘extreeeeeeeeeeeeme!’
They’d jumped off when the train slid to a stop somewhere in Kentucky, found a warm enough alley, and crawled into a large box for the night.
“Ya got change?” Chester asked the grinning man.
“Nah, I got something better!” 90’s kid held up a fast-food bag. “Took it out of the dumpster!”
Chester peered inside the bag. A sandwich with one bite out of it and a bag of chips lay inside. “Hurray!” he yelped, matching 90’s Kid’s grin and tearing the sandwich in two.
They scarfed down the sandwich and opened the bag of chips soon afterwards.
“You know,” Chester said, hand brushing 90’s Kid’s as they both went for the bag of chips, “I was a dumpster once.”
“Really? Dude, that is like, totally radical, man!” 90’s Kid licked the salt from his fingers and looked around. “So, what now, dude?”
Chester shrugged, finishing off the chips. “We could go jump on another train heading south. As long as the conductamator doesn’t catch us, we could make it to Florida by tomorrow!”
90’s Kid looked disheartened. “But, Florida isn’t extreme …”
Chester thought for a moment, scanning his drug-addled memories for something that 90’s Kid liked. “Oh! There are lots and lots of beautiful women in Florida!”
90’s Kid brightened again. “Oh, yeah! Dude, I like, totally forgot about the beach babes!” he leapt to his feet. “Florida, here we come!” he held out his hand and helped Chester to his feet. “Dude, maybe we’ll get extreme girlfriends with Rob Liefeld spines! That would be so cool!”
Chester grinned, already picturing the warm beaches he could sleep on, the scantily-clad women he could ogle, and the nice old ladies he could beg for change. He’d been planning on heading to Florida for a while, and he already knew that his winter adventures would be more fun with a partner like 90’s Kid. ”matorld make it to Florida by tomorrow!" south. around. (Plus, I can't see 90's Kid in any slash... maybe it's because I don't want to imagine it XD)
