Hope Rides Alone

My fellow traveling companions stopped at several relations houses and we took our time and saw sights and etc.

Anyhoodle, I'm back now! Yay! (Catching up on backlogs of slash at midnight will never have been so much fun tonight!) I'll be posting about five trillion fics within the next half hour, so be prepared for a swarm of aunt_zelda-centric material!

Also, you should all read Are We Rome?, because it's a fantastic book about politics and ancient Roman history and parallels and such that made me alternately giggle and hide under the bed. Much like slash, now that I think of it ... and it didn't help that I kept picturing trippypeas' Roman Plaude fic with the turn of every page ... damn you, you cracky smutty genius you! (Where's the sequel, ya procrastinator?!)

Also tried my hand at some Sirius/Lupin slash, when I read an article in the newspaper about HP and realized it's almost over *sob* well, the movies'll go on for a while, but the books end SO SOON!

I think a new mental ailment 'Potter-depression' should be classified soon by the Department of Health. Cures shall include dramatic readings with friends, vast quantities of chocolate frogs, and visits to mugglenet.com and other fansites.

Ate at a lovely Victorian restaurant (the fancy kind, with white table cloths and plinky music in the background) and I nearly died of happiness over the salad dressing. I mean, usually I don't get so excited, but my GOD it was divine! (Homemade basil rasberry vinaigrette.) Then I set my mouth on fire (my first ever Thai dish, I'm embarrassed to report) for fun and kinda liked it. Dessert was this blackberry thing with an almond sugary paste. My relations discussed (among other things) what exactly they'd had at Christmas for meat. A large steaming dish of awkwardness is just like any other to me, but that's beside the point.  

Oh, and I've decided to become Hindu. More details to follow.
