OMG NEIL NOOOOOOOoooooooooooooOOOOOOO ... *sobs onto keyboard*
Yeah, I knew it was a fantastic movie. I knew that it had Young!Wilson in it. I knew that (the amazing) Robin Williams stood on a desk. I even knew, in the back of my head, that someone committed suicide.
But ...
Jesus.

*gulps*
So, yeah, that was ... that was ... wow.

Eventually, I know, I'll be able to look at this from a slasher's perspective. I saw the Ho!Yay, really, I did. I saw the potential for House x-overs. But right now ... all I'm feeling is raw and stunned.
How could ... and he ... and they ... and ... AND HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE STRONG ONE! *wails*

So, yeah ... I have the sudden urge to stand on a desk right now. *looks around, sees none but the overcrowded computer desk with stacks of books and papers all over it* Uh, yeah ... that's not gonna work out so hot ...

Hold me?

I wept uncontrollably for like two hours when I first say that movie. Then we watched it in english class and I had to go stand in the hall for a while cause I couldnt watch it without crying and I didnt want to start bawling in front of the class.

The music before he kills himself is very haunting...

Dead Poets is one of my favourite films of all time. We almost didn't get to see it when it was first released in the cinema as part of our year 8 English class because of the suicide scene, but our English teacher fought for us and along we went, with a minor spoiler (we knew it happened, but not to whom.) I've watched it several times over ever since then, and it's just as meaningful to me now as it was all those years ago. A perfect film, I think. And the improvised rap scene with Meeks at the cave still makes me giggle ;)

*huggles you* The 'Oh Captain, my captain' scene always makes me lip wibble. And yes, the ho!yay, but it takes time. I actually went into knowing HE was the one who killed himself, and why, but i was still all, ohrsdfienergwtf? when it happened. And then the boys caved and signed and... *wibble* It's such a gr8 movie tho. I bought it ages ago and then only managed to actually watch it last month (I love RW early stuff, almost as much as his current stuff, and RSL hasn't changed A BIT!) :( *huggle*

Oh God, oh god. We had to watch that movie in class and I tried my very hardest to not cry like the little girl I am. Oh man. It sort of worked. I really do love that movie, even if it makes me cry.

And if you loved this movie, definitely go rent The History Boys, which is the gay, British version of The Dead Poet's Society.

I cry all the time when I watch tragic movies. When I was little, and we'd watch movies once and a while in school and a dog died or something, I'd completely fall apart and get weird looks from the other kids.

I've heard great things about 'The History Boys.' Yay, gay and British! (It's on my Netflix list, I swear!)

Awww, same here! Old Yeller? Still can't even bear to watch that one all the way through.

You'll love The History Boys, trust me. There's a lot of pretty British boys.
