Ok, before I start to bemoan my current state, I'd like to say that whitewater rafting is one of the funnest things I've ever done. I'd reccomend it to anyone. I went into it TERRIFIED, and when we went through the first waves, I was screaming (not blood-curdling screaming, but pretty decent 'aaaaaaahs!') but by the second set I was laughing afterwards. Towards the end all I was doing was laughing and asking my companion when we could go again.

Here's some tips, though:
If you don't generally wear short-shorts (I wear men's cargo shorts all the time, but you can't wear cotton so I had to go out and buy some swimtrunk that were VERY short indeed and exposed my knees, but I felt pretty hot. I have damn fine legs. *preens*) make sure to slather sunscreen on the skin above your knees that generall doesn't ever see the light of day. This will prevent painful sunburns on your thighs later on.
When screaming/laughing, make sure to close your mouth before a wave smacks into you. I personally was good at this, but my companion wasn't and kept hacking between cheers.
When given the oppertunity, switch sides on the raft. Not only will this lessen the pain in your main rowing-arm later on (which, let me tell you, is AWFUL when it's your right arm) but it'll cut down on the embaressing pictures taken of your boat where you're in plain sight of the camera and usually making some VERY funny faces. *winces*
DRINK A LOT. I don't CARE if you're nervous about having to pee when you're on the river, dehydration is BAD BAD BAD.

Speaking of that, I dunno WHAT happened, but last night, when I was having a shower and getting ready for bed, I was getting dizzy. I dunno if it was because I didn't drink or because I've never been rafting or WHAT, but all of last night, if I stood up, or even SAT UP in bed, I felt sick and the room started to tilt. It was AWFUL. Now I'm pretty much ok, and guzzling juice like made, but last night was scary.

Also, sitting on a raft for four hours makes it painful to sit down properly in your purple swively chair the next day. I'm kinda slumping/sliding right now, hopefully that'll work.

Camping when it's humid is NOT fun. But anime magazines are!

Sounds like you had sun stroke or heat stroke. Juice or sports drinks, plus staying indoors where it's shady and cool, should have you feeling better by the end of the day.

Also, I am jealous of your rafting trip. That sounds like wicked fun. =D

Ah, THAT'S what it was ... I've never had it, you see, I don't go outdoors as much as I should and yesterday was sunny and as HELL ...
*guzzles more juice* Thanks ... definately staying inside as much as possible today ... I've got so much to catch up on online!

Oh it WAS wicked fun! *grinz*
(But keep in mind I've got oddly-placed sunburns, a sore butt, and apparently had heatstroke for the first time in my life!)

Oh, I got a message that it's your birthday in two days! Partake of my celebration icon!
