Doctor Who and Torchwood Recap/Rant/Mindless Babble: SPOILERS!!!

Sorry these are a bit disjointed and odd, but I wrote them while watching the episodes. I watch so much TV on the weekends … and last night I discovered that I had an Obama button in my pocket since Friday after noon. Wow.

So the Doctor Who episode featured the Eye of Mordor and ilithiads, as well as the Doctor’s sexy sexy glasses. The ‘We must feed … you’ was pretty funny. I’m freaked out that a few nights ago I dreamt about running down one of those corridors … which happened to be on fire. What’s with the Feraral Demon? I swear, it’s an extra from that Buffy episode ‘A New Man’ … god I miss Ethan Rayne! Why must Rose always liberate every servant/slave she runs into? It’s noble, but getting a bit snobby. The ‘buy a house, get a mortgage’ conversation was lovely and had me giggling. Toby/the Beast’s tattoos and red contacts were pretty cool. Hee, they eat protein, just like on Firefly! Poor Scootie … *wibbles* I like that gravity ball, I want one. Wow, it’s beautiful down in that cave where they’re going to find Atlantis. It’s even prettier with the BSG music. “Are you kidding? ‘No turning back’? That’s almost as bad as ‘nothing could possibly go wrong’ or ‘this’ll be the best Christmas ever’!” Hee, I know that quote isn’t perfect but it cracked me up. It’s lines like that that make me like Ten. That seal/trapdoor thing looks like the Hellmouth … ooo, those glow-balls-on-pipes are killing all the red-shirts!

Oh no, this is going to be a two-part episode, isn’t it?

Moving on, two funny quotes I missed last week:

I still don’t understand why, after hearing “There isn’t an inch of me that doesn’t hurt.” Tosh didn’t give Ianto a MASSIVE HUGGLE. I mean, we’re supposed to believe SHE’S got problems?! After her not comforting Ianto I almost feel like she deserves that …

I forgot about Gwen singing that song about all the bones being connected. Hee … that was funny …

Why didn’t Tosh know that Mary was evil?! Heavy eye-make-up = evil! Idiot …

I cannot overstate how BEAUTIFUL Mary’s real form is. It’s the most gorgeous thing in the world.

Oooo, there’s a dragon painted on the wall in Torchwood! Sweet …

Argh! Why would you smash such a powerful thing? You don’t need to use I much, but when you’re, oh, say, LOOKING FOR A MURDERER it could come in handy! I feel like I’ve already said this when ranting about Angel smashing the Ring of Amara. Silly heroes …

I loved this episode. After the ‘unexplained and unnecessary cannibalism to get Gwen and Owen in bed’ episode and the ‘Tosh snogs and shags a woman’ episode, and also, to a lesser, the ‘girl is abducted by faeries who suffocate you with rose petals’ episode, I was in heaven.

 

“Would you rather me naked?” “God help me, the stories are true.” What, the police lady has read one out of five slash fanfics?

Nooooooo, don’t open the box!

Sweet, there have been more Ianto clips in two minutes than in the entire past episode!

The glove relies on empathy … so Peter would excel at using this thing …

Utto, this is just like ‘Pushing Daisies’ isn’t it? I’ve never SEEN ‘Pushing Daisies’ but this sounds just like it … so ‘Pushing Daisies’ ripped off a Torchwood episode … hmmm …

Wait, most English people don’t know about Emily Dickenson? She’s a household name in America … well, I grew up in New England, so that might have twisted my mind … it just seems odd that they wouldn’t know about her.

Oh god, they STABBED SUZIE! Eeeeeewww … as if her suicide wasn’t depressing and tragic enough, they have to bring her back and make her bloody IMORTAL like Jack. That’d be an interesting setup – Jack, Suzie, and Nine in the TARDIS.

“You started it.” Hee!

Poor Suzie, I kinda like her, cynical anti-hero …

Hurah for raves! (There seem to be a lot of those in Cardiff.)

“Torchwood,” that’s not funny Jack! You shouldn’t torment the insane!

Twin acrobats … Jack loves us WAY TOO MUCH …

Oh no, Suzie’s really evil, argh, this is almost as bad as Heroes. Don’t worry girls, we’ll find out Jack’s past in a later episode.

“We’re lock in our base and we can’t get out.” *giggles* I love those police (or are they MI-5?) because I just get so warm and fuzzy inside when Torchwood is humbled. And Jack quoting Emily Dickenson was DAMN HOT.

Eeek, religoes talks freak me out … *shivershiver*

Oh my GOD she killed her own dad!

Poor Suzie! *huggles her*

What’s moving in the dark and after Jack? I don’t think I want to find out …

Poor, poor Suzie! And damn, Jack got SCARY. How many times must you shoot a half-crazy woman?! (Btw, whatever happens to that man she ODed on memory-pills?)

*pout* We get no Torchwood here (unless you pay extra $$ for another 30-100 chanels that you won't watch just to get BBC, which, not so much in this house). I'll never see these episodes... :( Maybe I can find them on Veoh? Do you think? What's the title?

Oh my GOD you poor, deprived person! *will probably go to hell for this but ...* http://stage6.divx.com/Doctor-Who-2005/videos/group:26972 they have lots of stuff here ... or you could go to youtube, because they have some episodes there as well (cut up into four or five parts, but still) because you MUST SEE TORCHWOOD!
