Yes, Keladry of Mindelan from The Protector of the Small quartet by Tamora Pierce. I even wrote a college application essay about that.

Aside from being awesome incarnate, Keladry of Mindelan is the first girl to openly train as a knight in the fictional universe of Tortall. She is almost unbelievably badass and uses a motherfucking glaive in battle.
