Birthday 2020
Aug. 19th, 2020 01:23 amI had a great day! Roommates filled the hall with balloons and the living room with orange decorations. Got well wishes from online friends all day. Every year, I'm surprised that so many people say nice things, which is kinda sad I guess but still, every year I'm kinda surprised people like me? Give me gifts? Thoughtful gifts that show they really do notice/care? Called my parents at night and cried and missed them very much. Got to call a dear friend back East and feel normal for a while.
Watched my two favorite movies back to back with my roommates. Pacific Rim and The Brothers Bloom! Great cake, though we didn't have any birthday candles in the house and lit a ton of Cantrip Candles instead.
Missing all the people I couldn't be with today, especially my family.
Still, this was a delightful birthday. A much needed surge of good feelings and reminders. People care about me. Even relative strangers found it in themselves to be kind, to reach out. That meant a lot.
