And boy, am I EXHAUSTED! But I don't feel it at all! (Well, I never really feel how tired I am during a run of a play until I flop into bed. There is nothing like the adrenaline high of being in a Shakespeare production.)
Every SINGLE show was AWESOME! (Ok ok, we were all pretty tired during the Friday school performance, and it showed, but even as a dragging cast, we ROCKED!) But we had decent audiences all the time (some were bigger and/or more responsive than others) the fights were fantastic, there were no gigantic screw-ups, the transition from one stage to a smaller, more cramped space went swimmingly, no one got sick or injured or lost their voice, the Friday night performance (one of the best, though Saturday night's was also quite good ... not the lest because my speech was the best it ever was that night) was filmed, everyone got good pictures, and my dance-partner came to today's show!

It hasn't quite sunk in yet that it's all over. Best three weeks of the year, in my not-at-all-humble opinion, and I was certain I'd burst into tears as we were striking the set ... but I didn't. I didn't even cry at the dinner/snack at the Mexican restaurant afterwards. Or on the ride home. I'm hoping that by starting stories based on Shakespeare's plays and Shakespeare himself DURING the production, I won't go into play-withdrawl and feel that my life has no meaning until the summer show.

I seem to be moving up in the ranks as well (I mean, as much as one can in community theater.) Not only did I get a SWORD (I was in a great big fight scene too!) I got TWO speeches as well! One of which was delivered direct to the audience! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

The first thing I did - thank god - was bring on the mugs and chair for the Tavern scene. That was nice, so I could glance at the audience without having to do much. Then I was IN the Tavern scene, which I loved because all of the actors in it really made me feel that we were a family. The characters had history. They were friends and enemies and lovers. I think it was a Shakespearian example of a Nakama, honestly. Definately one of my favorite scenes. That and the end scene, where Henry was wooing Katherine, which to me was the sweetest scene EVER, not the least which because it completed the utilization of the versitality of the actor who played Henry (he went from terrifying to noble to comic to ... romantic) and left me sitting backstage quietly squeeing, but also because Shakespeare excells at writing love, and how silly it makes people, and ... naaaaaaaaaaaaaaw.
(Sometimes I got so scared of the audience that my knees started shaking onstage. That happened less and less as we preformed more and more. But when I had to run up to the balcony or the top of the aisle after the Big Damn Fight Scene, gettin' all hyped up by the 'once more unto the breech' speech, chased around the stage by one of the Union guys with two other people, delivered my speech, and run up to wherever, and THEN gave my second-character's speech about giving up the town to King Henry - who, btw, is DAMN SCARY in the speech I have to follow up on - I ended up getting really into that character, however small it was, and sometimes felt like crying because Henry's actor was so intense.)
Then I'd have a scene where I mostly just reacted non-verbally to other actors (again, SCARY HENRY ACTOR SCENE) and then I got hyped from the St. Crispin's Day speech ... and then I DIED. ON STAGE. And aunt_zelda thought it good and fun and fantastic, and aunt_zelda's friends and family in the audience thought it disturbing.

Anyhoodle, I'm back. Tomorrow I shall try to catch up on Heroes, so WAZT shall be forthcoming this week (and maybe some Shakespeare slash fics ...) and I might even attempt to catch up on Lost if I don't slump into despair and Shakespeare-withdrawl tonight or tomorrow.

*wibbles*

IT'S ALL OVER WAAAAAAAAAAAAH ...

(P.S. I ordered the complete set of Slings and Arrows this morning, so it's not all gloom and Shakespearian doom. Plus I have a day off tomorrow: yahoo!)
