MLK Jr. Day
Jan. 21st, 2008 05:07 pmJust a poem I wrote today, thinking about MLK Jr. and such. Of course all the civil-rights talk made me think about other civilian-rights, closer to my heart (i.e. gay dad) and this came out:
Sometimes I wish that the whole world was blind
There’d be no more ogling of an underage behind.
There’d be no more racism, you wouldn’t see skin.
There’d be no more religion, you wouldn’t see sin.
Homophobic reactions would cease to exist.
Male chauvinist pigs would stop being sexist.
Then I realize that you too would fade:
Love will prevail in the world racists made.
It could be completely awful but I wanted to share it with you all.
