Help, please ...

Does anyone know how to get rid of a canker? Without salt-water? As much as I despise not being able to eat properly for three days, I'm never putting salt-water into my mouth AGAIN ... I tried to gargle with it once and it made me sicker.
So, yeah, a friend sugguested I eat bananas (bananas are good!) but I don't really like the things ...
