Title: For Now
Rating: R for implied stuff? *wants to be safe*
Genre: Drabble-ish, I think (not sure about word count laws.) Depressing and sad.
Pairings: Sirius Black and Remus Lupin
Warnings: If you haven’t read books 1-6 or watched movies 1-5, you shouldn’t be here, you should be off somewhere else catching up!
Disclaimer: I do not own even an owl pellet of Harry Potter. JK Rowling, a genius and insanely fortunate woman, wrote it and owns it. I think Warner Brothers has the rights to the movies. Please do not sue a lowly fanatic who likes to think Sirius and Lupin are together between the lines!
My Thoughts: This is my first ever Remus/Sirius slash. I wrote it when struck by a wave of Potter-depression when I realized that the last book will soon be out and, except for some butchered movie adaptations, that'll be it. It's short and sad. (Also, I tend to live around mylar_fic and peterandclaude, so I probably won’t be here consistently.)
Is it the burden of so much loss that brings them together? The dull ache of tragedy, miscommunication, and deceit that's kept them apart for all these years? Both have more than enough reason to go mad with grief, to fall deep into severe depression, to reject society for mistreating them so.
For now, though, it's sufficient enough to be together and momentarily forget all the suffering they've been through. They'll huddle in this darkened room in an ancient, cursed house and try not to remember that they've walked through fire and been severely burned.
It's time to just let go, and melt into each other.

Date: 2007-07-14 09:42 am (UTC)To address some of the questions that I believe you had about writing in the Potterverse... I wouldn't have rated this R for its implications, perhaps Pg-13ist for the angstiness that was wonderful (Remus and Sirius are so wonderfully angsty.) Also, drabble = 100 words. Drabble-ish is good for a bit more, I've also seen Drabble+ used.
*grin* Okay, I'll shut up now...

Date: 2007-07-14 05:06 pm (UTC)I stared at mylar_fic with a lyrical, 'pretty' fic as well. Perhaps this is a tradition!
I rated it R to be safe, you never know with certain communities ... and thanks for the drabble-clarification!
