This explody and chock full of guns opening credits sequence confuses me. Seems like the's trying to appeal to his fans who like his memes, shouting, and "epic-ness." Gotta say, the shot of him merging with the Plot Hole kinda rubs me the wrong way.
So … not gonna acknowledge that you're back from time and space? Like, at all? No acknowledgement of Demo Reel? No grappling with the latent remnants of the psychotic hallucination you fought and LOST to in TRMGO? No? Um … no storyline? No overarching plot? No ne
His white balance is good, I'll give him that.
JESUS HE JUST KILLED A CAT?!?!?!?!?!
That's … not funny. Why not just have bloody hands and just not mention why he has bloody hands? That's … just kinda mean and low-brow
YAY RACHEL! … ~wibbles~ I miss Demo Reel
Auuuuugh … Malcolm … are they actively trying to make me cry here? Or is Doug just plain ignorant? Why do this to us if it's only going to make the Demo Reel fans cry and only amuse the whiny bastards who wouldn't shut up for 6 months about wanting the NC back?
FUCK YOU STOP MAKING RACHEL CRY!!! (I know it's fake, but come on … I'm sick of seeing them miserable, just when they were finally getting to be happy and badass and getting character development on Demo Reel.
I'm … underwhelmed. No acknowledgement of the dramatic ending of TBF, the Plot Hole, Demo Reel, anything … Malcolm and Rachel going from character actors to starring in one off gags &hellip
And … the Critic is back to swearing, shouting, and crude humor. I'm … not happy he's back. There, I said it. I'm not happy
If Doug's happy, cool, good for him, I sincerely hope he is. But I was getting a little tired of the Critic's "shout at stuff in funny ways" shtick last year, maybe even a little earlier, and it was only his innovative ways of reviewing things that kept me going. Musicals, crossovers, silent reviews, insanity, con appearances ... what else can he do?
My hope, two weeks ago, was that he would utilize the studio and the actors (especially Malcolm and Rachel) into some kind of new set-up. The Critic having foils to play off of, guest-hosts, maybe even getting people involved with the movies he was reviewing to talk about production stories and decisions. Something. Anything. A new set, people to play off of, a reason to be reviewing other than "funny" rage. Maybe evil bosses kidnapping him and forcing him to watch things? Being stuck up on a spaceship and ... oh ... oh ... see even THAT I would have been cool with, at least it would have been a nice homage to MST3K.
Here's what I posted as a comment on the video page. I think it sums up how I feel pretty well:
Status Quo Is God
Nothing ever changes

Doug, if you're honestly happy about this, good for you. I'm ... going to watch other reviewers for a while. In my opinion, you played this gag out, I felt that way last year even and was glad you were working up to the Anniversary. It was sad and it hurt but it was a great sendoff to a character. Now the NC is back and ... I'm just not feeling it anymore
I'll play your videos each week, but I might just mute things so you still get the ad revenue even though I'm not watching your stuff, I'm in another tab on another video.
