And now I miss Heath Ledger all over again. *wibbles*
The movie was strange. Very, very strange. But I did like it. Took me a while to get into it, but seriously, Prospero-and-Miranda-in-a-Deal-With-the-Devil-and-also-Heath-Ledger-is-there-my-mind-hurts-now ... you've gotta at least give it a watch.
It's beautiful. It's grungy. It's symbolic as all-get-out. It's sexy. It's disturbing. It's confusing. It's meandering. It drags. It soars. It looks like it was made on drugs. The substance is there but the story is missing. The story is there but the substance is missing. Everything's there, but something's missing. I can't figure out if it was disappointing or amazing or both or neither. I feel like it should have been Part 2 of a trilogy.
Thoughts, anyone else?
