What aunt_zelda Thinks: I Am Become Death

First of all, I've got a confession to make:

I had a Paire dream Sunday morning. (Laugh it up, guys, laugh it up.)

 

In other (less mortifying news) I went to a production of The Mikado on Saturday, which was FANTASTIC. The set is all 'authentic' and stuff ... and then the men of the Chorus come out dressed in black (sometimes leather) jackets and red shirts and Kim Jong Ill wigs, toting wooden cellphones to add to the music. When Nanki-Poo arrives, he's dressed like a member of a Japanese boy band (tight black pants, one of those jackets with stripes and zippers on the front, and really wild hair streaked with blue) with a satchel hanging from his shoulder from which he produces CDs in his intro-song. When the 'three little schoolgirls' arrive, they're dressed like Harajuku girls. That's about where I lost it. Katisha was a man in drag with a wig reminiscent of Cruella DeVille. Yum-Yum's wedding dress was this mild Gothic Lolita thing. References to Sarah Palin, Wall Street, and the Yankees were made in "I've got a little list" and the Mikado's song. It was WONDERFUL.

I miss being in Gilbert and Sullivan shows this time of the year. *sigh* My local theater is closing for the winter season because of heating costs. IMHO, March (and the yearly Shakespeare production I'll be in) cannot come soon enough.

 

Yesterday was ... harsh. It's probably my time of the month, and I cried horrendously in Math. I'm almost done with my Argentina project, though, and renamed a femme fatale in one of my stories. Dance-class was rescheduled, I stacked some wood, and watched "Officer and a Gentleman.”

 

 

Oh yeah, you guys are here for a Heroes review, aren't you? Silly me ...

 

Oooo, Chuck looks smart ... and in the classy way, not the brain-way ... oh, wtf? I thought that guy was frozen and evil!

 

In an amusing side-note, the quarry that Claire used to kill herself and had Zach film it was used in ‘Mr. Monk and the Buried Treasure.’ When I saw that episode I squealed, rewound the thing, paused it, and squealed some more. The people I was watching the tape with were not impressed.
