You should watch the first season of Veronica Mars--it's probably the best season of TV ever. Just promise to watch at least the first 4 eps--the pilot is exposition-heavy because it has to set up a lot of plotlines, and the second ep has...um...Paris Hilton. So people sometimes want to give up after that. But the third ep is the first really good one, and the fourth one finally shows the late Lilly Kane, who was made of awesome. It's probably on my netflix list ... Paris Hilton? My god, those poor producers ... glad the show ended up good, though!
