I Do (Mylar drabble for the heroes_contest community)
Title: I Do
Rating: PG-13-ish (nothing hardcore, no swearing, hints of dub-con.)
Word Count: 477 (approximately)
Pairing: Mylar (Mohinder/Sylar)
Summary: ... officially, now, this was an affair …
Disclaimer: I do not own Heroes, Tim Kring and NBC do. The characters Mohinder, Sylar, Molly, and Matt Parkman were not invented by me. This drabble was written for the enjoyment and amusement of myself and fellow Heroes fans, no profit involved, blah blah, please don't sue me, it was hard enough to scrounge up the cash to pre-order S2 ...
A/N: I know, I know, I haven’t written Mylar in MONTHS, and for that I am sorry. I was kidnapped by all things Whoverse, please forgive me. Now that Doctor Who S4 is over, however, I'm going to be getting back into the Heroes swing of things. (September can't come fast enough, in my mind!)
Prompt: Vows
Mohinder twirled the gold band on his finger as he contemplated his cell phone, holding off dialing the number for as long as he could.
He listened to the ringing on the other end, praying that, by some miracle, no one would pick up, and he could go home and cook Molly dinner.
No such luck.
“Doctor Suresh …”
Mohinder winced at the sound. “Marlene’s Motel, off the highway, room 42.”
The voice on the other end laughed. “Be there in fifteen-minutes …”
With a ‘click,’ the line went dead. Mohinder turned his phone off with an angry snap and tossed it, along with his ring, into the drawer of the bedside table.
After staring at the walls for a few seconds, he flumped back onto the bed and tried to drain away all of his anger. Going into this angry would only prolong the whole damn affair.
Affair …he thought with a sardonic smile. Yes, officially, now, this was an affair. Never mind that it was preventing his adopted daughter and his husband from having their heads ripped open.
Husband …now that was going to take some getting used to. Last year he hadn’t even known Matt’s name, and barely a week ago Mohinder had been signing a document that said he was married to the man.
Marriage …was it really that, though? It was only a precaution, a charade to further secure Mohinder’s place here in the States … and it wasn’t like Matt was going to be ‘faithful’ either …
Mohinder shook his head. If there’s anything I should be feeling guilty about it’s –
BANG.
Him.
Mohinder sat up, but Sylar shook his head. “Stay down.”
Mohinder lay back again, closing his eyes as Sylar shut the door, and the curtains. He flinched when Sylar slowly took off Mohinder’s shoes and socks, massaging the geneticist’s feet with his hands and telekinesis.
Just get on with it …Mohinder thought, gripping the sheets of the bed.
“Impatient today, are we?” Sylar asked, rolling onto the bed beside Mohinder and kissing him slowly.
Mohinder opened his eyes. “Don’t pretend this is anything but a trade.” he spat.
Sylar shrugged. “Fine …” he began unbuttoning Mohinder’s shirt. “Just remember …” he murmured, unzipping his pants and pulling something out of his pocket. “You don’t have to hide from me, Mohinder.”
Mohinder sighed. He was tired of thinking in his native language so Matt wouldn’t find out. He was exhausted from spending sleepless nights staring at the List, trying to make sense of it all. He was fed-up with stacking lies on top of lies to protect Molly, and now Matt. He was sick of feeling sick with himself and having to smile at everyone like everything was fine.
“I hate you …” Mohinder whispered.
Sylar cocked his head to the side. “Promise?”
Mohinder turned away.
I do …

(It must be noted that I have been trying to sit like L in this chair and type at the same time, with mixed success.)

I especially liked this because I could totally hear Mohinder and Sylar's voice in this, as if it was a bit from Heroes and that doesn't happen a lot with me, srsly. I'm very picky, so to read this was made of win. =P

Since the rafting trip I've been too sore to sit like L ... later I shall ...

aww, hope you feel better! Whenever you feel better and get the chance, will you read the fic I sent you and let me know what you think?

Holy hell that was an awesome drabble!!!! So hot!

Hot? Awesome? *peers at the drabble* Seems I've still got it ... writing about Time Lords for three months didn't change a thing!

I really liked this <3

It's just ... I left for that funeral and then I was in that play and then I was SWAMPED with Mylar to catch-up on ... and I realized I couldn't do it anymore. *still feels awful about that*
I would LOVE to catch-up on 'Road to Redemption' however, and anything else you've written that I didn't comment on (which means I didn't read it *so ashamed*)
I'd give you linkies in turn, but the only stuff I've written during this time is Doctor/Master ... though there IS a sort-of Plaude fic you might like ... maybe.
This time away has been ... very strange. Lolcats, and angry Doctor/Rose shippers throwing shoes at my head, and giving Kensei Approval to LoM crossovers, and getting a deviantart account on which I post silly 'art' made in Paint ...
You liked this? Yahoo! I've still got it after all this time! *dances*

This was...intense. You get across so much in this drabble and I'm completely intrigued by it. I won't lie, I'm not a MattMo person so I was glad to hear that their marriage was part of an act, a necessary act of protection.
As for the affair...I like that for all of Mohinder's denials there's still that unspoken acknowledgment of much more. The way Sylar takes off his shoes and socks is incredibly intimate, considering the amused laugh he gives Mohinder over the phone. At that time they seemed much more -- well, as Mohinder said it was a trade. But seeing Sylar with him in the motel shifted that around for me. Sylar seems to be reading between the lines (as much as he's having fun with Mohinder being all "whatever") and that ending...so many different ways to read that.
So nice to see you back again!

This was...intense.
Wow, thank you! (Coming from you, that means a lot!)
I'm not much of a Matthinder person either, but you've got to admit, LIVING together, raising a CHILD? We've based pairings on much less ...

Sylar, like me, likes to mess with people's minds.
so many different ways to read that.
With such a complicated pairing, I pride myself in being able to do that.
Thanks for the warm welcome! (Dunno when I'll be able to write next, but I'm definately participating in the heroes_contest so I'm not going to vanish again ... I hope ... I'd BETTER not. *glares at self*)

This was short and sweet and intense. I'm always amazed when people can cover so much ground in such a short amount of time. I just loved Mohinder's anticipation and his practical thought-process. It was just really in-character and scary.
Back with a bang, you are!

Awwww, you have? Thank you! *beams*

You and me both! *still amazed I made it under the limit*

Thank you very much! (Sylar comes FAR too easily for me, so it's always wonderful when I get Mohinder right.)

This was really good (I had contemplated writing mylar for Heroes_contest, but so far haven't had the inspiration) and I really liked it even though I don't like Matt/Mo very much, Sylar being maniplative and having his way with Mohinder in trade for leaving Molly and Matt well alone is hot ^__^

I'm not too fond of Matthinder either, but I wasn't REALLY writing it here. They DID get married, but not because they love each other.

Heh heh, I love making Mohinder do 'bad' things to keep Molly safe. He's such a good dad ... and yet it isn't REALLY non-con because Mohinder DID have other options here. He didn't HAVE to sell himself, there were roads he didn't take ...

Guh, this was lovely. Poor, poor conflicted Momo.
As others have said, I am not a Matthinder fan, but seeing their relationship in this light was interesting indeed.
I love it; I needed this. :D

It's great to see new Mylar content by you, and I hope that there's more to come! By the way, this one was short and sweet; and I especially love the last line. It was the perfect way to end this drabble.
Seriously, great job on this, and like the others have already say, I'VE MISSED YOU! ^_^

So glad you're back!
This ficlet is really cool, and I like how Mohinder continues to accept his fate, and go the hard way about everything so as to protect those he loves...in this case, Molly.
It's awesome to see someone finally mention the fact that Mohinder probably isn't in the U.S. entirely legally...maybe the Company pulled some strings or something...
Anyway, great stuff!
cheers
